A supercharged Retinol and Vitamin C serum to help boost brightness, smooth uneven skin texture and improve the look of firmness, tone and elasticity.
Directions
- At night, apply a thin, even layer to face and neck, avoiding the eye area.
- Follow with your favourite Kate Somerville moisturiser.
Do not combine multiple retinol products in the same application.

Great retinol & vitamin C in one serum
I have been using a gentle retinol with great results for a few years now. I was interested to try this one as my very sensitive skin responds well to Kate Somerville products and I find it hard to fit actives into my routine with a reactive skin so it is great to have retinol and vitamin C together. The serum itself absorbs easily into my skin it has an orange scent which I like but it dissipates quickly. Results wise my skin is smoother, fine lines less noticeable, skin tone more even and my skin looks brighter. This is a mid strength retinol but for my sensitive skin it is on the stronger side. I use this only once a week which is the perfect amount for my skin, I can see it continue to work for 3 days after I use it. This serum can be drying but if you use a thick moisturiser after or an extra layer and for the next night or so I have no irritation. With once a week use I have had no peeling or flaking just much improved skin. I would not use this on my neck or around my eyes as it would be too strong for me. This is a great serum if you want to address fine lines, wrinkles and brighten at the same time and it really tightens the pores on my nose. If you have not used a retinol product before or have a sensitive skin build up use slowly, this is an amazing serum with two potent ingredients and has made a big difference to my skin.

Vitamin C Retinol power serum
I absolutely love this product from the first day I started to use it.
Firstly, the packaging is brilliant, because the pump allows sufficient serum for one use rather than giving you too much in one go. The pump never gets blocked and the size of the container is small which is great.
The serum is very soft, non drying and neither oily or greasy. It has never affected my skin (70yrs old) meaning I have no irritation, flare-ups etc.
A first class serum that I will continue to use as no other products matches this.

Not for me
I think this formulation is too powerful for me, left my skin hot and slightly burning. Also not a fan of the thick texture, i like my serums lightweight.

Powerful
I like the idea of combining Vit C and retinol in one product, however need to be used carefully. The consistency is thick,like a moisturiser and I can notice a difference,skin looks even and brighter

Sensitive skin beware
The scent of this is lovely, the same as the moisturiser, however my skin didn’t not tolerate this at all. I can tolerate retinol but after using this my skin was sensitised and dry. Not for me!

Younger looking skin!
Have just purchased my second one of these lovely serums. In the morning my my skin looks smoother and wrinkles are diminished. I can’t be without it! I use it at night in conjunction with Kate Somerville Delikate recovery cream. My skin is prone to spots but I find this serum doesn’t break me out. At first, skin may feel a little sensitive but persevere - your skin will soon adapt. Highly recommend!!
